Title: West Central Missouri
Post by: Mowoodsman on February 23, 2017, 04:00:10 PM
Went out last evening and located 10 gobblers.  Hit the old owl call and got some gobbles.  Just 2 days before I saw 3 hens and 2 gobblers, 1 in full strut.  Good thing is that if the hens nest early with the warm weather we've been having opener should have love sick Toms looking.  Although I do worry because last season was tough enough.  Any one else seeing or hearing the same?

Nothing in SEMO this morning. It wasn't a very good morning for listening but absolutely silent. I did see one gobbler strutting around noon Tuesday.

I'm just hoping this year will be better than last for me. I have permission to hunt a 400 acre farm this year so I can barely wait!

Went out this evening again and 8 gobblers and 4 hens. Season can't come soon enough!

Good luck, it's been many years since I've heard 8 gobblers in SEMO, at least on the public I'm hunting. May explore some new public places this year, my son is supposed to show me a spot he hunted last year that had quite a few gobbling, also a lot of hunters too.
