I was just curious, it seems that there was / is a trend to use aluminum under glass / crystal / and aluminum - and for good reason. Has anyone experimented with using titanium or copper as a soundboard? Would there be a difference when compared to aluminum?
Just thinking typing out loud...
When you make one, let me know you can try it out this spring!
Copper might have a more hollow tone than aluminum. Titanium would probably have high pitch to it give a call maker an idea and have one built
Titanium would be awfully expensive and hard to find in sizes to make a sound board.
Copper would also be fairly expensive for a sound board. I don't think any sound difference would be worth that cost.

Bored this weekend so I give it a go just droped a titanium sound board in my style slate glass pot ,,, sounded pretty much same as glass board turkey Ha ,,only thing nice u got the option of running the titanium change it up in hurry ,,,, But as with any combo of surfaces and sound boards if I was serious about making any combo I would mess with the measurements of the pot to make a unique sounding call
slate over titanium

Sounds pretty darn good! The titanium underneath really sounds like that ole boss hen. Definitely a 2-in-1 call :icon_thumright:
