I have the same one and I was surprised by how good it sounds. I didn't like ceramic until I played his. You did good.

I've never played the cherry but I love the ambrosia maple version. As I have become more familiar with various woods over the years I start liking cherry less and less for it's acoustical potential. No offense to cherry lovers. I like to work with it but it's not for me for making calls. I'm weird. The ambrosia pot sounds really good. But it's up to the player to make it sing. As with any call.
