Title: Tigerwood lid
Post by: Brantley on May 28, 2016, 12:27:05 AM
Anyone ever tried to use tiger wood as a paddle? I've got some inbound I was gonna try over butternut or limba. Just curious if anyone has tried to make a lid out of if.

If you're referring to Goncalo Alves, also know as tigerwood; I just tried some. Didn't care for it at all. It has a ringing type sound, almost metallic. Tried it on numerous short boxes and long boxes. Just didn't work for me. May not be the same wood you're talking about, not sure. Guess I've got a lot of scratch box material now.  :icon_thumright:

Hopefully you get better results than I did. It just didn't work for me. Good luck, hope it works out for you.  :icon_thumright:
