We've struggled to get Isaac out this year due to school and his part time job. Isaac passed on a shot at a great looking tom last Saturday that strutted into the outside edge of shooting range then deciding something wasn't quite right and doing an about face. It was a good decision, but after stepping it off we decided that he'd have killed it had he chose to shoot.
Thursday was the second day he's been able to hunt this spring and likely the last. Isaac was ready to pull the trigger and fill some tags and had not intentions of being very selective.

We ran across this elk shed during the day.

We could see two eyes looking at us from back in this den. I'm pretty sure it was a fox, but I wasn't reaching in to find out.

Noice! That terrain and those white feather tips look just amazing to me. :icon_thumright:
Great pics as always, Hobbes. Congrats on a successful outing with your son.
Attaboy Isaac!
Very nice.
Congrats to him! :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
Great pics! Congrats. That jake fan would make an awesome wall display. Well done guys!
Congrats to you both
They are good and white, but I've got too many fans in the freezer now. I've promised to get some feathers to the fella with the request for fly tieing feathers from Merriam's so I kept them because of how white they are.
Congrats! I love those white tips
