Good idea with the memebers map, you can place the marker as close/or not to your house as your comfortable with, me I'm kinda paranoid about stuff like that so I put the marker in the town I live but not the street, works for me.

I got banned from TNDeer recently, I posted up a sarcastic smart remark (but not hateful or nasty) and they give me the boot, I'm think'n the over lords ther must be rather thin skinned or big time politcaly correct now days(note: more sarcasim), I was poken around ther later on and ther was about 2 pages of these guys in a argument, must be get'n kinda messed up over ther.
I'm in Spring Hill, but hunt Moore County. I plan on going to the NWTF show Saturday. Wouldn't mind meeting some fellow OG'ers.

I'm real sick..been watching the new DVD'S that are out. I have a ground blind set up in the garage and been sitting there practicing on my friction calls while watching the DVD's. My wife caught me and said "you're sick". yep!
Took all my guns out of the safe and cleaned them all up, even though they did'nt need it. After I get back from the NWTF Convention, I'm going to take those guns out and shoot the heck out of um. :fud: I think I got a fever!
can't wait to go to the show.
Yeah Griz they honored me with a premanetly banned, bit the dust I did, but I still check out post every now and then just to see whats up.
From what I've heard on other forums they've had a change in the powers that be, I guess thats why they got rid of the classified section, I know a lotta guys were complain'n about it so they locked the thread to try and stifle it.
man some of you guys are ate up with it, sit'n in the garage in your blind practice'n your calls is kinda heavy duty, you should win something for that.
So far I've only been play'n with my diaphram call while drive'n, but thats the way it starts out, as it gts closer I'll wind up sand'n a hole in my pots try'n to find a better sweet spot.
Howdy all! I'm in Chattanooga. New to the OG and enjoying all the great info here.
Chattanooga ay ? your just down the mountain from me, so...welcome to theropy, were all here for the same reason so get comfortable and help us help you, the first part is to admit you NEED theropy, after that it gets easy, we all feel your pain brother.
Feel free to tell us a little about yourself and your turkey hunt'n wants, needs, let downs, we've all experienced the same thing. :welcomeOG:
hammernstrut, this is a great site, you don't get bashed and everyone is so helpful. remember, there are no dumb questions, unless it involves a squeeling hen. :icon_thumright:
Thanks Fox Fire---- From all I've been reading I have exactly the same disease as everyone else. I've only been hunting ol' Tom for 4 years now and I'm sick with it. I'm taking my 10 year old with me for the first time this year so I won't be the only one infected in the family. He's got no idea what joy and frustration he's in for!
And Crutch-- thanks for the welcome. I have yet to run into an ill natured turkey hunter. I'm sure they're out there but most folks I meet are as helpful and friendly as they can be. Looks like OG is full of the same.
I'm not gonna mess with TNDeer, I have to many other sites to keep me entertained anyway, its a good site dont get me wrong but I spend to much time on this "puter" anyway.
Dont look like I'm gonna make the NWTF show afterall, I have to work all weekend, need the money anyway I guess.
Hammer & strut, you keep that youngun in the woods all you can, its a good kinda sickness we have here and kids can get it also, but it wont hurt'em. Wher abouts Chatt ya live, rite in town or a outta town some ?
Whats up fella newbie here from robertson co. Just found site cause I was tired of reading all the BS on tnducks and tndeer looks like i am not the only one. Will be at the show this weekend looking to add to my collection of stuff I dont really need but might once. :D
Hey Fox Fire--- I'm out toward Apison on the east side of town close to White Oak Mtn. Far enough out to have possums and raccoons strolling through the yard but no deer or gobblers. Too many neighbors. Even saw a nice formation of night flying geese crossing the moon last night. Made me sorta heartsick for those quiet mornings setting up in the dark and watching the sky slowly turn pink while the cardinals and crows wake up to another beautiful Tennesse spring day. Oh man, now I've got to go throw in another hunting video to ease my pain and impatience.
A big ol :hello99: from the Mt Eagle area, man your rite in the middle of turkey central, mid Tenn. is covered up in birds.
I was in just south of Robertson Co. one day try'n to find some hunt'n ground and it's tuff to do around ther, I pulled up into one drive way and the guy was out in the yard and all of a sudden he takes off run'n tward the house, he leaps the porch steps and takes a quik look as he slams the front door, so I waited for a minute and he would not come back out.
It was kinda funny now that I think about it, but since you live ther your luck should be better I'm sure.
Since you new here all I can say is dig in, lotta god turkey hunt stuff here, and a lotta good people.
Hammer... I know exactly wher your at, kinda anyway. I drive a truck and pass thru ther evey now and then, you cant be far from turkey/deer I'd bet.
I was think'n about a dvd rerun myself but I have to work tomarrow and if I get started on TV I'll be late get'n to sleep (probably wont get to bed early anyway).
Fox Fire--- If you are headed north on 75 and go past the new VW plant exit then through Ooltewah, the next big hill there is White Oak. As you are heading up look to the right and I'm a couple of miles down the ridge toward the south. There are turkey and deer not far off from me, just not close enough for daily viewing. I do get to watch the sun come up over White Oak every morning. Not a bad sight. Hamilton county is pretty populated and not too many public hunting areas but I do have access to a couple of patches of woods well outside of town that are fairly healthy with game. Its about an hour up to AEDC so I head up there a couple of times each deer and turkey season, right up through your neck of the woods. Even looked at some land a few years back outside of Beersheeba Spgs. Real pretty country.

What part of Robertson County do you live in. I grew up in Coopertown.
Hey Grizz-- I wish I was closer to AEDC. We've taken a couple of nice birds up there as well as some nice does. Saw the biggest buck I've seen in the wild (only been hunting about 4 years) at last year's fall turkey hunt there.
Actually I live in Coalmont about half way between Mt.Eagle and Bersheba (as we locals call it), It aint a bad place to live because we dont have a large population and everything that goes with it but on the other hand ther aint much for jobs around here, you have to travle to find a decent pay'n job.
It used to be down rite ruff up here but in the last 20 years its calm down a lot, also used to ahve plenty of woods to play/hunt in but a lot has been bought up and fenced in.
15 minutes ?? ya care to tell about wher you live Griz ? you mite not be far from me at all, I live about a half hour from AREO.
You are right about that Grizz--- I took a couple of days off and went in the middle of the week during the last fall hunt and I felt like I was the only person in the place.
Me and my cousin used to squirrel hunt on the back side of ther wher the river runs thru. It was Sept. maybe Nov. and I thought I herad a gobbler, I heard it again about 10 minutes later, I figureed it was on a farm nearby, but every time it would gobble it would be farther away, it finally went out of hear'n range.
That was the first and I think the only time I've heard one gobble that time of year.
Yea Fox Fire finding hunting ground can be real tough around here. I am not originally from robertson and found out pretty quick if you weren't grown here it is hard but I have been able to find some decent spots in the county that pay off. But you are right the area has got the birds no doubt.
Crutch I live in springfield near the golf course. I am out coopertown way pretty frequently, hunt a little out there to at a buddys farm. I did not grow up here but just down the road in madison (neelys bend).
Howdy Howdy. I'm checking in from Williamson Cty.
Good Luck this season.
Chris
Sounds good to me. We may have already met at one of the sign in stations and not known it. Always fun to see folks you know year after year. It's sometimes hard to remember names because I'm usually half asleep when trying to sign in.
Sounds like a winner to me, if we could find a place to shoot we could have show and tell :z-guntootsmiley:.
Used to down at Big Daddys store in Southpittsburg they had a turkey hunters throw down every spring before season started, they had a turkey shoot and the winner took home a brand new benelli, also (and my fave part) they set up a table with a lead sled and you could try out shot gun chokes as long as you brung your own shells, it was a good time plus it gave you a chance to try some choke/shell combos, they quit have'n them about 2 years ago.
PM returned.
When i first posted the TN roll call it was just to see how many we had on here from the volunteer state, but its even more interest'n to find some this close to my home20.
Small world I guess.
If you want we can try to set up a meet and greet soem time sure nuff, maybe have a shoot or if some thin else to make it a better time than just stand'n around talk'n.
any ideas?
Im not from Tenn. but Ill come hunt with yall
Test'n the water...Anyone else interested in a pre turkey season get to gather? maybe enjoy some turkey call'n games/contest/how to lessons , shot gun patteren try'n, and maybe somethin to eat ?
Throw out some ideas and lets see what happens if we can find the time and a place thats nuetral for all who want to.
If I can make it, I'm up for it.
Depending on when and where I'm game. Also I know you're doin a roll call but I think it would be interesting to see who hunts public vs private as well. I hunt almost exclusivelly on the priest wma
The roll call was just to see how many ther were from T.N. thats all, but seems it mite be a hangout thread for the T.N. tribe if it keeps on go'n, just have to wait and see I guess.
Depends on the amount of intrest if we have a gathering of anykind, at this point its just a thought but it mite be kinda fun just for something to do one weekend. ***first things first NO ALCOHOL PERIOD ! ***
I guess the place would need to be somewher as central as we could make it.
any ideas on a place or things to do ?
This is probably a stretch, but I've run out of options. We've got a tnturkeyman 28 on the team, who hasn't reregistered since the crash. I've run out of options to get ahold of him. Does anyone possibly know him? I've got till tomorrow to get him registered or he's going to be replaced. I believe he is a call maker.

Can't say as I know of him brother.... Could the admins look at his account info and look up his e-mail address that he used to register the first time......... or was ALL that kind of stuff lost in the melt-down?
We've tried his email with no result either.
Be a bummer to have to replace a team member at this time, but better now then closer to season I guess.

The issue is we need to get the teams set, and lock it down to determine team size and how many teams. Some guys are hunting in a month, so they can't drag it out any longer.

True. He did register back on the Site after it crashed, but didn't post. I was out for a couple of weeks last month when my computer crashed, and being it was still under warranty, it was sent back to the factory. Oh well, I did everything I could. Thanks guys.
