Prolly a dumb question but how does green wood coated in wax ever dry? Doesn't the wax prevent it from drying?
Wax slows it but doesn't prevent it from losing moisture. The key is to keep the wood from losing moisture from end grain faster than the sides. If the moisture loss is too rapid and mostly from the ends it will check.
Very good and informative answer!
Rick is correct, just one more thing it will take fifty years to dry. check this
