Anybody use sonic dome mouthcalls and if so what brand and cut?
Never had any luck with them. Course everyone is different when it comes to diaphrams. What's a dud to me may be a winner to you.
I tried Primos' dome type and I could take it or leave it. Nothing to write home about so I stick with ordinary calls.
In my experience I can say I hate that call. Not saying they won't work and may sound good to others , but to me I don't care for them.

I used the Primos Sonic Dome double reed when I first started learning to use a mouth call. I found it really easy to learn on and get the basics down. Killed my first two birds with one then moved on to Woodhaven calls, now I'm using Sadlers. Tried one of my old ones a few weeks ago and it sounded like a kazoo to me!
Not saying they will not work, but I have never heard one that did not sound awful... I suppose they could be useful for learning how to use a diaphragm, but they sound terrible to my untrained ear.
Sonic is good call
I have a primos mini sonic dome. It was the call I learned on. It just seemed easier. That being said, now that I can run a regular call better, I don't use the dome anymore. I feel I run a regular mouth call better

Well I finally got a sonic dome double. Found it on sale at Academy's and danged if I didn't lose it crawling on a gobbler the other day.....and I halfway was liking it to! >:(
I have only used one dome-style call,...I think a Primos. I modified the reed cut to suit me and it was one of the sweetest sounding calls I had at the time. As for the difficulty/ease of use, I'm not sure if they are easier for a newbie, or not. Any experienced mouth call user should be able to use one without issue, I would think.
