Title: sbe2 and a5 question
Post by: Roughneck on February 24, 2016, 09:36:50 PM
Been looking at both these guns and won't some opinions on them please. I have a m2 and love it but thinking about getting another and these are ones I'm looking at. Now I know the sbe2 is proven no doubt but I love the feel of a5. Now for those who have an a5 what is the best choke you can get for it I shoot magblends.

I have both guns and prefer the feel and handling of the A5 over the SBE2. The recoil is about the same on both. I have not worked up a load / choke combination for the A5 as I got it last Fall. I believe William with Sumtoy has worked up a load / choke for the gun. I found his other chokes to be very good in my Versa Max & A400 Xtreme. Also, he  has great customer service.

I have both as well.  I use the sbe2 for turkey and predator because I have optics mounted on it and the browning for waterfowl.  If you were to get a gun for all applications I would lean to the sbe2 because its drilled and tapped.  If you dont use optics then get what feels best.  Cant go wrong either way.

I had a Maxus and used the hevichoke with it.  It was amazing with magblends as well as hevi 6&7's and was a great gun and threw the best patterns of any shotgun I ever owned.

Another suggestion based on a Maxus / A5 Barrel Diameter would be a Indian Creek choke. I had amazing luck with the Maxus and Indian Creek choke tube.
