Title: Winchester SX3 Longbeard
Post by: Hersh on January 11, 2016, 07:55:39 AM
Thinking that this might b my next turkey gun. Anyone here set one up yet. Just wondering how they perform. Also interested in the coyote version because I'm not real sure I like the cantilever mount. If I'm not mistaken the coyote version is basically the same jus no cantilever and a different choke tube and no camo. Any info is a appreciated. Thanks Ryan

I bought the Winchester SX3 Coyote last year and love it.  I did choose it over it's more expensive brother the Longbeard because of the features. It is drilled and tapped has a vent rib and comes with true glo sights...The Coyote was a Shot show special and is no longer in production, but the last time I looked there were still some floating around. My gun shoots well and is topped with a Leupold scope. Except for the camo to me it's the perfect turkey 12 gauge. It should also cost you alot less than the Longbeard SX3....

That was some of my thinking too. It's cheaper and if I ever want it camoed I can get it dipped. What choke are you using ?

It shot longbeards and megblends mighty fine with the only choke I tried which was a jellyhead.  I shoot a trulock .680 in it with TSS. I checked around yesterday and there are still some to be found...Buds, and a couple of others.
