Title: SBE 2
Post by: tha bugman on August 18, 2015, 10:27:44 AM
I am looking at a SBE 2 with a 24" barrel.  I want the gun for wingshooting and turkey.  Anybody had any experience on stock chokes with this gun and if so what load combination?-  Thanks

I've got the same gun ! The factory Mod Choke should be good for wing shooting & an Indian Creek .665 & Magblends for turkey.  :icon_thumright:

First of all, that's an excellent shotgun if it fits you well. The flush mounted chokes do a decent job for wingshooting, and the clays sports. I'll use an improved cylinder for doves early in the season and also for quail and pheasants. I will vary the shot size with that choke depending upon the game.

I don't like to shoot any turkey loads through the flush mounted chokes and would choose any of a number of extended turkey chokes. If I had to choose one, I'd go with a JEB's .650 or .655.

Thanks,
Clark

I got a Kicks High Flyer FULL (which is actually a modified choke with lead) that i found is awesome to wing shoot with for species other then ducks.  I put it in for duck season and use it all of dove season as well.  shoots a lot better then my factory mod did with cheap lead or cheap steel shells.
