Any ideas? Its growing on the river bank behind my house, never saw whatever this is in the past. Thanks

I'm not an expert, but I've been trying to work on tree ID myself lately. That looks like a box elder to me. It is in the maple family, which explains the "helicopter" seed cluster hanging down.

Yep, that's Acer negundo (boxelder).
