Title: Review on patternmaster code black in my sbe...
Post by: TheSportsman on May 16, 2015, 11:02:08 AM
Well... I finally shot the code black out of my benelli sbe. I've always been a rhino and nitro combination guy. Well after shooting the code black, it will stay in my gun. I shot everything from nitros to regular hevi to lead. Great performance, even with lead 5s.  Very impressed. Highly recommend it. Great numbers but what I loved most was the evenness. Fantastic hunting patterns, shot out to 50yds.

Still looking at numbers....
Hevi magnum blend-220 avg
Nitros- 240avg
Hevi 6s- 190avg
Federal thug # 5- 152 avg

3 shot avg per load

All loads 3.5" at lasered 40yds. 70 degrees. 5mph wind. 10" circle drawn around core of pattern. Dirt barrel, 26".

Have yet to try any winchester longbeards...

me and my buddy shot his sbe2 with a primos jelly head max and nitro hevis 4-5-7 . 333 in a 10" circle at 40 yards. this was walked on foot, no range finder , so we could be off some. he wasn't getting any where near this pattern a year ago. the only change he made was a lengthened forcing cone. I heard the cone wasn't supposed to help much with heavy shot loads...but I have picture evidence that it helped his a ton. we shot it twice at 30 and twice at 40
