All,
I am looking to start upgrading my decoys. This is not a discussion on which brand is best but is a discussion on which do I buy first, a new hen or jake? I currently have 2 foamy hens and a foamy jake. Personally, they all look pretty bad haha but they are in good shape. If you could only afford one new great looking decoy, would it be a hen or jake first? I will use that good looking deke with the others. For example if I buy a new jake, I will use that new jake with the foamy hens and leave the foamy jake home. I will buy the other sex I didnt buy next season. I am not interested in Tom's right now as I want to pull in both Jakes and Toms and I think Tom dekes have a higher chance of scaring off jakes. Thanks all!
I have much more luck with a single Jake than anything else. I'll use the Jake by himself 8 of 10 times.

I was kind of leaning towards jake. Plus, sometimes I run and gun. When I run and gun, I like the idea of the foamy hen anyways since it is so small and light to transport, making it easy to quickly unpack and set-up while the newer really nice dekes tend to not pack well compared to the foamys. Next year I would like to have a nice Jake and two hen combo for when I sit on a field and want to make it look like a flock, but again, when im on the move I will likely only bring a foamy hen.
If you can swing both get both. Otherwise get a jake or strutter, they tend to get a quicker reaction.

I was leaning towards a 1/4strut jake. Still a bit unsure about a full strutter. I don't want to scare any subordinates away, including other jakes as I have yet to land my first male bird so I am still open to landing a jake.
I would go with a single jake, I do a lot better with it. Especially the later it gets in the season.
