Title: Evening decoy setups?
Post by: rkm456 on April 26, 2015, 07:59:42 PM
Season opens up tomorrow, unfortunately, I was unable to weasel my way out of work. Luckily, I'm off at 4 and we're allowed to hunt until 7. I'm treating it more as an armed scouting session, but I still thought I'd ask you more educated folks. I was thinking I'll probably just take my strutter and see if he can draw anyone in, but wonder if I'd be better with a lone hen, maybe the strutter and a hen? I have no clue.

So I ask you OG'ers. What, if any, do you setup for decoys on a late afternoon/evening hunt?

I would take a strutting decoy with a jake fan and a breeding position hen. Good luck.

Unfortunately I don't have a jake fan, but my strutter and breeder are exactly what I preemptively packed. Hopefully are hunches turn into a big bird come tomorrow. As usual thank you for the help!  :funnyturkey:
