Title: Youth day in NH!
Post by: chatterbox on April 25, 2015, 03:26:30 AM
Mornin' folks!

Well, another NH youth season is upon us. All I can say, is where has the time gone? It just seems like yesterday that Harrison was sitting on my lap in a blind with his little single shot, a bundle of electricity waiting on trying to get a shot at a gobbler and now he is the shadow of a man, with 2 fine NH birds to his credit.
He has grown so fast, and I am so proud of him.
To all of you guiding youth's this weekend, be safe and have fun. I have only one more youth season after this with him.
Hold onto it as long as you can and cherish them while they are young.

We had a good morning hunt, and Harrison called 4 jakes to the gun. Since he has already tagged out the previous 2 seasons on longbeards, he elected to let them walk. Although, on the last property we hunted, he got pretty itchy on the trigger finger, and really thought about killing the trailing jake!
One really good thing came out of it though. Because H didn't shoot the first jake, that bird walked in front of a young hunter who was able to harvest his first turkey, so it was a great day all around!
