Title: Another bites the dust
Post by: savduck on April 12, 2015, 10:17:19 PM
Took part in this years Outdoor Dream Foundation hunt in Orangeburg, SC. Last year I hunted all day and my young hunter had a heart breaking miss. Its been on my mind all year. I had made up my mind to get another shot. The young man i guided this year put an excellent nerves of steel type shot on a gobbler with an hour left in the hunt. Had the bird in front of us almost two hours. The young man had the highs and lows of thinking the gobbler would leave or never come in range. I kept him calm knowing the bird wanted to slip past our hide.

Time came, bird came, young man made a LONG shot and rolled him up. Vindication.

He was up on a ditch bank and rolled down into the drink after the shot. Sucked, the bird had a beautiful cape in the sun.
