Title: Purr on a wingbone
Post by: Brantley on April 10, 2015, 12:09:04 PM
I made my first wingbone yelper last year and called in my first bird with it yesterday. I have seen a video of a guy with a trumpet yelper gobbling but haven't seen anything with purring. Just wondering if there was some trick to producing a purr on a wingbone, or is it not possible? Also, I've read for years that trumpets and wingbones are deadly on heavy-pressured birds and from what I saw yesterday this seems to hold some weight. I'll definitely have one around my neck from now on.

It is certainly possible, but not easy.  I've seen a video of John Dangerfield purring on a trumpet.

Too many other calls that make a purr better than worrying about it!
