I have a mossy 500 in 20g and I put a luppy vxr 3to9 x40 on it ,I shot it Monday with rem win and hornady as well as fed turkey loads , I tried the factory full and a Carlson turkey tube and I am just not happy with my patterns out to 30 yards ,yes thy will kill birds but for the last 15 years I have been shooting a 3.5 inch 12g and have killed 30 some long beards ,am I looking for to much from the 20g compared to the big 12g ..ps I am from Ontario Canada.and this is my first post here ...Dutch

If you are able to find them try Federal Heavyweight 7's or Hevi-Shot 7's.  These two loads are IMO the best shooting and most popular out of the 20 gauges.

well I got the 20g out again today and with the Carlson tube she has a great pattern at 25 yards but at 35 she is blown apart so bad I would not even shot at a rabbit at 35 yards ,never seen 10 yards make that much of a difference in a pattern and this was with 5 different kinds of shells .win suprem hornady rem and Federal ..the feds were the best and I could get by with them out to 35 yards but I sure am disappointed with the 20g over all ,,,I am looking to try a few other tubes and see if it get any better ..Dutch
