Here we go, one of my GRINDERS crow caller.... made from European Boxwood, which is probably one of the most desirable woods for carving and musical instruments like recorders flutes and such because of it extreme density. It is perhaps as expensive a wood as you will find, it usually only comes in small sizes. True European Boxwood is a rare find, so if you can get a hold of some grab it while you can, this call I did some brickwork carving....The mouthpieces are made from African Red Plum I was given by Darrell Gibson, a very fine grained wood hard as nails, this particular piece had some sweet curling in it.
