Title: Bad Part of Out of State Hunt
Post by: hunter22 on March 27, 2015, 05:22:30 PM
Packing...... I always forget something. David (drenalinld on here) and I are going down to Mississippi early next week to chase some swamp gobblers. I have started laying things out. We are a real glutton for punishment and also plan to camp on the public land we will hunt. It has been a few years since I slept in a tent on a cot. Could be a long first night or two. I used to backpack hunt the Rockies in Colorado so surely I can remember what I need. LOL

Don't know if it will help much but the NWTF has a checklist for hunting gear you can print out on their sight. It's under the hunt tab. Whenever we go on vacation I have to make a checklist or I'll leave all kinds of stuff. Joys of being ADHD I guess.

When I'm not using it I store ALL my turkey gear in a specified tote

My hunting stuff stays together too, whether hunting local or road trip its all the same. Now the camping gear is what I stress over. I have a list I made a few years back and use it every trip. So far I haven't been caught without anything major.

I've been wanting to do a turkey camp hunt... But somewhere where Mosquitos aren't like humming birds.
