First time poster, long time "reader".
I am currently shooting a rem versamax 26" paired with a .670 Pure Gold choke. Running 3.5 mag blends I am getting 140-150 hits in a 10" circle. I know that's decent, but I am thinking about testing a few other loads like the hevi 13 6/7's to maybe improve some. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Sorry. 140-150 at 40 yds.
Thanks

Glad you're here and good to see your post. You have a fine gun in the Versa Max and I like that 26" barrel as well. I'd recommend that you try some of the 3" standard loads of Hevi-13 with 2 oz. of #6 shot or #7 shot. I shoot so much of the #6 that's actually what I prefer but many others prefer the #7s. Both are excellent and will give you very dense patterns that will do all that's needed to cleanly kill a turkey at all reasonable ranges.
Again, good to have you here and look forward to hearing more from you.
Thanks,
Clark
I get way better numbers with the 3 in magblends than I do with the 3.5
shot one today that gave 157 with Winchester long beard 4's.
Shot mine today. Temp 40 degrees. 3.5" #5 longbeards with a kicks 665 at 40yds done 191. 3.5" #4 done 152 and 3" #5 151.
:welcomeOG: I like my Patternmaster .665 Code Black and #5 longbeards
