Title: Looking for advice on a call.

Dead End Game Calls Roadkill Batwing 2

Would this be a call that I could use for regular yelps, as well as soft yelps, purrs, and clucks?

I know it says it is made for soft calling, but I don't see why I couldn't do regular yelps with it.

My understanding is that the more the latex is stretched, the more air it takes to make the sounds, and the louder the call is...

A softer stretch should also be easier to blow.  I have found that a tighter stretch gives less leeway for error, but gives a bit more versatility...

I just bought some calls from Gooserbat, and he spent considerable time on the phone discussing which calls would best suit my needs...  When all was said and done, I am guessing he made about $8 per hour...

Bought a box call from Paul's Calls, and he also spent some time on the phone discussing what he felt would be my best options...  You might consider purchasing a couple calls from a custom call maker, if not just to talk to them and take their recommendations.

Talking with Gooserbat now. Hoping to make a purchase in the next day or so.

Not at all saying to disregard gooserbat. I've never used them but hooks are def real easy to run. The easiest calls I've ever used n I've used a lot.

It has been my experience that any one of the good call makers will spend some time helping the consumer fit their needs...  I am pretty much set for calls this season, and will likely purchase the favorites I found again...  Hook's calls are on the list for next season, and my understanding is that they are very helpful as well...

My point was, that the smaller companies making custom calls are more likely to spend some phone time, listen to you call on the phone, and direct you into an appropriate call...
