What I have: Shotgun, shells, camo, decoys, blind, backpack, chair, mouth calls, slate call, owl call, gloves, facemask, hats, boots, leafy suit, knife.
I am planning to get some camo wrap for my shotgun and a fanny pack to hold essentials in stead of using my backpack.
Y'all know of anything else I might need before the season starts?

Lots of time in the woods, both hunting and scouting.
Other than a little patience, all you need is a weapon, camo head to toe, and few calls.
Toilet paper
ThermaCell, flashlight & maybe some hand pruners to cut small branches & twigs. Not must haves but they sure come in handy.

I have all three. Forgot to mention them. Oh, and the toilet paper, check!
Bino's and the stuff you spray on your clothes to keep the ticks off.

A good box call for windy mornings. I also like a good glass or glass ceramic call as well but those two are just my personal preferences..... :)
I usually go with paper towels as their multi purpose :turkey2:
You need to bring your a game...I go a little extreme but you need to have the confidence gained by practice with your calls yorgun setting up your blind quietly also your chair make sure it doenst sqeeeek ,where your gear and shoot from your blind!you have to rule out all negative factors that are in your control...you get out of it what you put into it :OGturkeyhead: o and a camera for the hero pics+ in your case access to a tape,scale,and paper to document your score :funnyturkey:

A mentor of mine once told me, scout 2 days for every day you plan to hunt and you'll be twice as successful.

Lots of truth to this.At a minimum learn the land you're hunting like its your living room.A very good older friend of mine who is a flat out turkey killer that looks like he stepped out of a 1970s Outdoor Life story once told me "dont be afraid to go with your gut and try different things"."More lessons are learned from mistakes than from anything else;them turkeys will teach ya if ya let em".He always told me if you shoot a turkey everytime on the first setup all you've learned to do is shoot turkeys.Mess it up a couple of times,which you'll do,then when you finally get him after 4-5 tries you'll have a better understanding of why you got him.
This is nothing you can buy, but something you'll eventually get, and that is experience. First, You'll have to kill some birds, get busted by others, plus have good and bad experiences with turkeys in close so you can learn what you can get away with and what you can't. Like most things in life, experience is one of the best teachers. You can read all about what to do and what not to do, but once those turkeys school you a few times, those lessons will make more sense to you. You've definitely asked some good thought provoking questions here and gotten great answers & help. Really, nothing but in the field experience can shorten your learning curve. I will however concede to the fact that baby wipes are a whole lot better... Using toilet paper for the process it was intended would be similar to trying to get peanut butter out of shag carpet with that same tissue... Not all that effective.
