I wasn't paying attention to the "details" when I order my 870 20ga and ordered the Compact. I actually wanted the Youth model. What's difference in the two except for the stock?
Other than the stock, i think the only difference is that the compact has an 18.5" barrel where as the youth model has a 21" barrel. Good luck i think you will be happy with it. Ive been killing turkeys with my 870 youth 20 ga for 12 years now and although i have a safe full of guns, it is still my favorite. Get yourself some Fed Hw #7s and go kill turkeys.
jordanz7935, thanks for the reply. The barrel length is 21", I think the Compact Jr. is 18". Thanks again for your input. :you_rock:
I stand corrected. Must be the only difference is the stock. Good luck with it! You probably wont be carrying a 12 ga much after you hunt with your new 20. Lightweight awesome little turkey guns. As a side note, if you dont like the trigger, try a patriot sear spring for 870s. Only $10 and it made a big diffence in my gun.
I have a Remington 870 20 gauge Compact and it shoots lights out with the Sumtoy .562-5/3 inch Fed HW #7's combination.
