The land we lease is a deer lease all young pines
We have found 3 birds on it averge 4 to 5 hunters per bird
Turkey hunting is my passion, but this is rediculous
I am hunting wma land in april, how would some of you
Handle this
Not sure on the story but....if the woods are a good deer hunting spot keep it and find another spot to turkey hunt.
That or lease it for turkey hunting too and maybe keep the other guys out.
If it's 5 in your group and not alot of birds I definetly find another woods to turkey hunt.

That sounds like a non starter. I would be on a wma or looking for a new hunting lease.
Easy hunt harder, call better and stay later...
Well they paid just like you did. They probably feel the same way. Now turkey hunter numbers have risen. Thanks outdoor tv.
Enter and leave the woods subsequent to the high traffic :anim_25: :turkey2:
I'd try fanning the birds....... Only kidding!!
I'd look for new ground asap!
the bad thing about looking for good land is getting harder and harder with the influx of turkey hunters. you got to adapt to the situation and times to continue to be successful.

The way you worded this it sounds like there are 12-15 hunters going out at once for the same 3 gobblers. At the worst this could be dangerous, at the least a lesson in frustration.
It sounds like you have the right idea, move on and find other birds. Next year, if you'd rather hunt private, look for something a little more reasonable as far as hunting pressure goes. Your situation is a recipe for drama, and that and turkey hunting are not a good mix.
