Title: Mossberg 500a
Post by: Izzyjoe on March 11, 2015, 09:35:41 PM
A friend at work picked up a rough old 500 at a gunshop, he wants to go hunting with me one day this spring. Anybody had any luck with the older 500's, i think he said it was an accu choke, but not sure. Somewhere I have a turkey choke for a mossberg, if I can find it I'll give it to him. Think we will start with some turkey thug #6, cause I have a few boxes of them.

If it's a 500 and it has factory screw in chokes, it's an Accu-choke, AKA Invector or Winchoke. Mossberg also has Accu-Mag chokes but they are for the overbore 835 size barrels.

I've been hunting with a Mossberg 500 for more than 20 years and it works just fine.
