I heard my first gobble of the spring. Only gobbled once but sure was good to hear. About a mile from my house here in South Alabama.
That'll get your blood flowing!! Good luck this spring!
We have Snow and sleet on the ground here so I envy you sir..
Our birds are still shivering so hard from the cold, they can't gobble.
Yessir!!!!
Heard one gobble a couple times Friday morning when I went to get the paper before work.
Heard my 1st gobbling of the season here in NC
I doubt I'll get to go listen till opening day. I'm jealous.
Nice! On a side note it's going to be -9 degrees here in the morning and we have about a foot and a half of snow down. :(
Last couple years, I have had access to duck hunt a pond up in the foothills... Last couple years, birds are gobbling in early December and January... Hunting quail in past years, it is not uncommon to hear them gobble in December and January. (Hunting central California)
Last season (2013-2014) was my first year hunting the area, and there were easily 20 birds gobbling by late January. When turkey season came around, there were only 3 toms on that property that I heard or saw... Guess the dominant birds pushed the others off come breeding season???
Good to hear, trying to stay warm here in PA.
