7 weeks to go.  Normally at this time I'm out every morning seeing what's going on, but the weather has been brutal.  Can't wait to get out just to hear  'em sound off.

27 days for me in Georgia. 3 years ago I was so excited I by accident or stupidity started a week early. It was very odd to me that my next door neigbor's son wasn't at his favorite spot, a tree at the corner of my field. I figured it out by mid week, I was so glad I hadn't shot a turkey or that Ricky our local warden hadn't stopped by my property. I don't think I could have talked my way out of that one or that He would have believed it was truely a mistake.

My son is a cop and an avid waterfowler. On duty, he pulled into the city boat ramp to see a proud goose hunter motor in with 2 geese on the bow of his boat. Problem was goose season wasn't open at that time. It was the week between the split seasons. Son and hunter argued about the season dates, couldn't decide who was correct, so the game warden was called. Game warden verified closed season, hunter was written a ticket for shooting ONE goose out of season. Should have been for two geese and hunters equipment could have been confiscated. Only thing hunter was mad about was he couldn't keep the geese.

The weather here is crazy right now.  I am ready for the weather to get right and the turkeys to start talking.  I haven't been out looking or anything. Except a few hens are showing up on my trail camera behind my house...  :)
