Title: Kansas early bow season?
Post by: daymude7288 on February 19, 2015, 12:48:39 PM
Anyone ever hunt the early bow season in Kansas.  If so how was it?  I'm sure weather plays a big part.  Do you think there would be much hunting pressure on the public land?  Thanks for any info.

I wouldn't think that the archery opener would be too crowded with all those walk-in areas...could be wrong, though.  However, weather is definitely the big question mark.  ;)

The youth/disabled hunt is also during that time, that is usually the only pressure I have seen when I used to bow hunt it.  I've seen it over 80 degrees and I've hunted in the snow, but if you are in Rio country you should have good luck either way.

I hunt archery season every year in KS. Have seen pressure twice since 2007 when they started archery only season. The dates have changed, youth only until the first weekend.

Weather can be tricky. I've hunted it for several years and think you'll have a great time. Good luck!!!!
