Been shootin' Hevi 13 #6s, I might try #7s and see how they do.
Actually shoot two loads; Hevi-13 3, 2, 6 in my 12 gauge BPS and FED FliteControl buffered lead 3, 1-3/4, 6 in my WIN M1300.
Hevi 13 3.5 2.25 6.
Winn 3.5 HV #4's, but I've got some Hevi 3.5 #6 on the way.
In my son's 20 gauge, I shoot Federal HW 1.5 oz #7. In my MB 835 I handload TSS 2 oz #8
H-13 2 1/4oz #6
My favorite are handloaded shells with #8's & #9 mix (heaver than Hevi-Shot)
Hevi 13 3.5" 2.25oz. #7 Great load... :pow-mia:
Hevi-13 3.5 x 6 x 2.25 in my mossberg 835.
H13 for factory shells
i used Remington and Federals for years with great success but they just cant show me the patterns at 40 that Hevi13 do
Been shooting 3.5" Winchester HV #6's since they came out. I may switch to Hevi at some point, but I haven't had any issues killing turkeys with that load, so I've not switched over. There is no denying that the Hevi patterns are quite impressive, but I always figured......."sort of dead" was a lot like "sort of pregnant", and the HV's have been doing a good job of making turkeys "sort of dead" for me.
Last year it was one bird, one shot of 12 gauge 3" mag blend at 20 long steps.
Hevi-13 in 3" 2 oz #6
Had some bad luck with Nitros....despite lots of others having good ones. Dont care for federals. Winchesters have always out performed all the others from most of my chokes and guns. Do have some H13 2 oz 6s that pattern great but they are slow.
Winchester extended range sixes for me.
Winchester ExtendedRange #5's in my 835
Federal HW #7's in my 870 youth 20ga
