I have the Woodsman drop dead glass that I like. Haven't played any of the others. It has a average age hen sound to it. Best I can describe is a nice roll over that's not overly raspy, sounds good to me. I wouldn't exspect the more costly models to sound any better.

Yes and yes, I own several Cody calls both glass and slate. My favorite slate is the 'Woodsman". My favorite glass call is the "Envy". Cody calls are pure turkey. I gave an "Envy" to a friend last fall as a gift. He is a new turkey hunter. Long story short he killed his first fall turkey using that call. He called in an entire flock with it!  :z-winnersmiley:

What striker do you like best with your Envy?

Cody's Bocote striker. I don't think they make it anymore. Their heavy Hickory striker works well too and it came with the call.

Thanks! I also have an Envy glass call that has been the death of a bird or two. It was the first "decent" pot call I bought some 15 or so years ago. It came with a two-piece hickory striker that sounds good with it. Funny enough, I bought it from Wal-Mart.

I also use a woodsman, since I've owned it I've never left home without it. May be one of my most used calls.

I like the Holei box, and have a number of their pot calls. They sound great.

I have a SPEC I glass and a SPEC I Legend, which only comes in slate.  I have approximately 250 calls of all varieties, and I can honestly say these are within the top 5 in terms of sound quality (rollover, rasp, consistency, playability and results from use).  They are expensive, but, I recommend everyone consider getting their hands on one to hear for themselves.

I got 2 when Bill wasn't as well known. I started notching one every time one died. I would only be holding the soundboard now if I didn't stop. Great calls with great roll over. Spec 1 and world class are top notch

Which would you rather have in a slate. The spec 1 or the world class and why. Been thinking of picking one up but can't decide which one to get.

Also interested in this. And thoughts on the legend would be appreciated too. I'm going to get one of the 3 but just not sure which to get

I picked up a Cody ll slate years ago on the cheap. I only pack 2 pot calls and that is one of them. Im addicted to custom pots so using a production pot doesn't seem quite right but that call runs like a million bucks so what are you gonna do?
