Not enough and a few (SC, MS, Bama) hope to add Fla to that list this year and Kansas next year.

LOL, I'm not worthy of posting on this thread. I've been hunting turkeys since 2008, spring only, and let's just say I can still count them on one hand, although I've been happy with my success rate the last three seasons.
All Easterns. All PA.

Don't worry about number of kills, the hunts I remember most are ones that ended well for the birds and bad for me. I have way more of those memories anyway.

Sometimes those are the ones that make you smile the most, especially if you kill that son of a gun later.

You both speak the truth. I didn't become hooked on turkey hunting by
shooting turkeys, that's for sure! Although, I'll say revenge on a wise old gobbler is the sweetest kind.

Some of my best turkey hunting memories have been when I did not carry a bird out of the woods.
I would venture to say that I easily have 3-4 times as many hunts that ended without a shot than those I've killed.

Let's see..since 1968..oh my..I have no idea how many birds. I didn't keep count of so many in the early years..I have harvested birds from many states..lacking the Pacific NW and far NE..nor Hawaii.
Living on a ranch in NW Oklahoma, we were given the green light to harvest as many as we wanted from the ranchers and farmers...they hated them because the large groups would literally keep the cattle from feeding on round bails. In those formidable years, I wacked and stacked them..I now know better and practice good harvest management . Those early years sure were fun though. Was lucky to see 2, maybe 3 hunters all season long.

Called two gobblers in my very first turkey hunting trip in the spring of 2013. Thought turkey hunting was the easiest hunting you could do at the time. Boy was I wrong. Killed 1 more the rest of the season and 2 more this past spring. All in SC.

To old to remember..... lol...... since 1983 and lots of states. I did get a Rio and Goulds on the border of Texas one year. Never got a Florida to complete what ever slam that would be. Passed up a hunt with Lovett William's in the Yucatan that I regret. Always thought 5 birds in the Low Country of SC was good enough slam for me....lol.
110 with a bow....IA.IL.MO.KS.and NE. 30 or so with a gun. Took a few years to get my first bow kill.
6 states for me

Texas Goulds??
I got serious about it in 2008 or so. I think my number is 17. My favorite hunts have been watching kids shoot em during MO youth season though.
MO, GA, KS. Got skunked in Oklahoma last year for a rio and am headed to FL this yr and W KS for a rio.
11 states I think?...
Closing in on 200 birds total....
Cutting way back on traveling these days, so I'm glad I have the good memories....

IL, MO, KY, TN, SD, NE, WY, KS, FL, TX, Sonora Mexico and the Yucatan most of those states multiple times for multiple slams. As for as #'s go I stopped counting back in the late 80's when I hit my first hundred.
The #'s don't mean much anymore as it's the opportunity to pursue birds in all the the beautiful country that we are all so fortunate to have and share.
Good luck to everyone this and every upcoming season that we are all truly blessed to enjoy.
Somewhere in the 150 range but no exact number. That took a lot of years.

Didn't start turkey hunting 'til the mid-90's. It was tough hunting on FLA public land with a steep learning curve (self-taught). The first 3 years I saw more birds running away from me.
When I finally started killing birds, I was limited by FLA's 2 bird limit. The last 10 years I've been hunting out of state as well, and schwacking birds.
40 total (including 4 fall birds)
Got my birds in Florida, S Carolina, W Viriginia, Ohio, Michigan, Oklahoma, Nebraska and California.
Struck out in Georgia and Alabama.
Got a goal of killing a bird in all of the lower 48 states before I die. So I'll be traveling a lot, especially in 2-1/2 years when I retire.
Pumped for this coming season!! :icon_thumright: :fud: :turkey:

I removed my origonal post because it bugged me to speak of my numbers and places. Just felt wrong
What I will say is that the only number that matters to me is the 25 birds that iv watched my 9 and 12 yr old girls kill. It's not really the number that matters. It's just the wonderful amount of hours in the spring woods that I have spent with them to accomplish this. Any turkey hunter who takes little kids can understand the difficulty and satisfaction in doing so.

If I get the next one I am chasing and one more, that will make 2. I honestly do not know, but have not been doing it that long. Maybe 15? With 4-5 more called in for others. All in FL. I chase ducks and geese in 3 states and one foreign country, I have to show a little fiscal discipline. Now, if I catch the lottry, look out!
