Title: 510 Mini Recoil
Post by: Tom Dooley on February 01, 2015, 09:46:01 PM
Looking to reduce the recoil on the Mossberg 510 Mini. Do they make a good recoil pad for the small stock on this gun?

limbsaver slip on or grind to fit likely only
Options.

Does Limbsaver make a slip on one small enough for this?

I just bought a 510 mini as well, and according to the sizing chart on the back of box, it appears that the Limb saver size small will fit

Guys, good luck with the gun. I put a limbsaver on my daughter's 510..... Still bucked like a mule..... It's just so light! It's the 20 gauge

my  5 yr old shot the gun today, granted only 2 3/4 skeet loads, but did well at 20 yds.  I shot a 3in Fed #4 turkey load and it patterned poorly at 30yds.  Definitely gonna have 2 3/4 only for him, gotta find a good shooting load for next weekends youth hunt.  Using stock Full choke btw.

considered a limbsaver but unsure how much that may affect the length of pull.  He didn't complain about recoil today so I will probably just leave it alone for now.

Get yourself some Federal heviweight 3" #7, and it will wake that little gun right up!
My son has one, and with just a stock full flush mount, we are getting 193 in the 10" circle at 30 yards.
It has a perfect pattern for a young hunter. Very forgiving, with plenty of knockdown.

Will do.  Was leaning towards 2 3/4, but may go with 3in. After all.

My 5 year old (huge for his age) has a little 870 youth I set up for him. He'll rain lead on paper with 2 3/4" shells all day. I've let him shoot 2 3"HW and he had NO issues. I'm comfortable letting him shoot one in an open area at 35 yards.
