Title: Hevi Duck 20 ga #7?
Post by: donjuan on January 11, 2015, 03:38:50 PM
I see Dunn's has Hevi Shot Duck #7 for 27 per ten rounds.  Has anyone compared these to the hevi 13 turkey and if so, what's the difference?  Particularly interested in a nova 20 ga.

Looks like it may be worth a try. I didn't know they made the heviduck in #7.

I've got 10 boxes of these but I've never shot any. (http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/11/8cf75f4c439c21b2358559914c77f501.jpg)

Without knowing for certain, my guess is that if it's a duck load, it's probably around 1500 fps.  The turkey load is 1050 fps.  The duck pattern probably wouldn't be as good.  That being said, it's worth patterning to find out.  Always helps to save a buck.

Those are 1-1/4 oz of #7-1/2 and are rated at 1250 fps. Seems like they'd be pretty devastating at reasonable distances.

these are not the same as the hevi13 #7 turkey loads, but they should not have any problem taking a bird.
pattern them and see what you can do with them

I've got some of those in #6 shot and they pattern really good, like 120-130 good from my youth 870.
