Title: Hevi shot
Post by: DMP on January 10, 2015, 08:03:01 PM
Is it just me or has hevi shot gone up $5 + a box since last year?

They are $4.00 more a box from Cabela's than what I paid last March. But they could have been on sale last March when I bought them. I just don't remember. This was for 3" 2oz. of #7.

Around March last year a bunch of them were in the Classifieds here. I stocked up for a few seasons. Much cheaper than buying them in a store and reliable lots.

It's only going to get worse.

I paid 19.99 at academy and bought all the Hevi 13 3/2/6's I could find in their stores last couple of years. Looked at cabelas today and they are 30.99 plus shipping. Shooting lead and LB's in the woods most of the time now.

Just checked their web site and couldn't find where they were offering a rebate on their turkey loads.  Only found one for their duck loads.

Let the haters hate and the lovers love but for the workin man now we have WINCHESTER LONGBEARD XR!!!!! I don't care about the long range, if I can't get him inside 40, well he will be there tomm!! But in all seriousness the only load that I have got numbers close to hevi is lb xr, for 20$ a ten u can't go wrong, and for all the forum rules about don't speak of shots over. 40 yards there sure are a lot of people on here concerned abit htl shot I mean if 40 is all we are worried about as ethical hunters than does it really matter if we shoot lead or htl, I mean I shoot a factory 835 w/ factory choke and I can get 180-190 on the ten with lb xr 6's and I know from experience that's enough energy at 40 to dump them all day long!!! Plz don't hate appreciate!!

Yeah, unless they have a REALLY GOOD rebate this year, I will start using up my stockpile.
