Title: Remington Ventilator Choke Tube
Post by: lastofthebreed on March 19, 2011, 08:56:56 PM
I ordered one of these for my 870.  It arrived today and I installed it.  I was very pleased with the results at 40 yards using Winchester 3" SuperX 17/8 oz. number 5 shot.  It gave by far the best patterns I have ever gotten out of that particular shotgun regardless of the ammo used.  Unfortunately it began to rain as I was finishing up so all the patterns I was going to take pictures of got ruined.  The price was right so, all in all, a good deal all around.

$19 for a choke that will out shoot some $60 or $70 chokes.   :z-guntootsmiley:

It does well with the H13 3-2-6 shell.  It also does well with #7.5 Lead.

great choke for the money for sure. I have used one for several years.
IC is the only choke that I have found that will out shoot it in my rigs.

Pretty sure it was 1-3/4oz handloads Wes.  May have even been called "The Hammer"  :D

That Ventilator and the old white shells went together like peanut butter and jelly.

Not too shabby with handloads either, I've ran quite a few 1-3/4oz #6 loads through them for 220s at 40.

I have one of these chokes that I have never tried. I got it in a package some years back. I think it came with a camo stock that I got.

I guess i should try it out. I assume there havent been any problems from shooting hevi shot out of this tube???

Not one single choke that I'm aware of.
