Title: What choke for a Weatherby PA-459TR?
Post by: headshot870 on November 17, 2014, 01:21:22 AM
I picked up a Weatherby PA-459TR & put a PG .555 in it. At 40 yards, with #7 Nitro's, the pattern is less than stellar :(. In fact, it would have to get better to suck. It's uneven with large, bird saving holes holes in it. Any recommendations from those with experience with the Weatherby guns? I really like this gun, but if she won't perform for me I'll have to kick her to the curb. :'(

Thanks

Try a sum toy 562-5 with federal heavy weight 7s or a pure gold tempest 570 with federal heavyweight 6s.

Ive had poor patterns out of the 555 chokes. Mine gun likes it opened up a little.

Thanks Savduck

I'll check em out. I'll probably call PG & see if they'll swap this choke out for me.

Anyone else have any suggestions

Ask for the tempest choke
