Most here know that Cocus is a fine tonal wood and very hard to find anymore.. I received a beautiful blank as a gift from a dear friend.. Took it to Billy Buice and he made this custom order- a "Jamey" style yelper. I supplied some Ivory for a set of mouthpieces and Billy knocked it out of the park..
Excellent craftsmanship and sound quality is marvelous..
WOW ,,, REAL NICE LOOKING CALL

Thanks for the compliments.
I have been buying calls from Billy for over 25 years .. He is a great callmaker. If anyone out there doesn't have at least one from Billy, I give him my highest recommendation.. He can build you a great Turpin style box, scratch box or trumpet that you will be proud to own and hunt with..
Hard to beat a trumpet from Billy. This one is exceptional. I am not sure what a "Jamey" style yelper is though.

A "Jamey" call is a pattern that Billy and his son James designed....slight differences from a standard Buice trumpet.
That is another nice looking Buice trumpet there, Congrats!!!
That's a beauty AG.
Does that one have the "back bored" mouth piece Jamie talks about?

South Carolina's own Mr.Patrick Gamble. Best I have ever heard. He can make EVERY call of the wild turkey on a trumpet.. His purring on a trumpet will amaze you.
Ahhhh, the young trumpet Jedi Trumpet Master! Sure would like to hear this phenom! You guys video him in action if you get the chance.
Patrick is pretty good. He runs em Zach farmer style.

IMHO, and only my opinion ( and I have heard a lot of "masters" play the Trumpet type yelper) - I will stand by my comment that Patrick is the best I personally have heard. ( including quite a few "masters" )..
I was sincere that I wish I could hear him. Heard many, many rave reviews of his sound.
