Title: CVA 20 gauge single shot available at Academy
Post by: Tail Feathers on September 19, 2014, 08:59:56 AM
Several had asked about mine last spring and I saw them available at Academy.  This one is not in camo, but it's a nice little single shot and shoots great with the HW 7's right out of the box.

250 bucks for a single shot shotgun? Why?

I didn't even notice the price increase.  It's a good hunter right out of the box tho, choke and all.
Or buy a H&R Topper and pay to get it drilled and tapped and have about the same amount in it.

So you can just mount a FF sight or other optic and go, base already on it.

Cheek piece looks high enough?

What thread style chokes?

How good is pattern with Hw 7 ?

I put a red dot and a sling on it and sighted it in.
If I recall, HW 7's did 148 in 10" circle at 35 yards with a nice even dispersion.
I never did shoot it at 40 tho.
My grandson dropped his first bird like a hammer at 38 yards this past spring.  And it has a great trigger, probably 3 pounds and smooth.  And it uses the same chokes as Mossberg.
