I made my first wingbone call 2 days ago. I still need to wrap thread on the joints and seal it. It has a nice sound to it. I have enough bones for 3 calls. I plan on making 2 displays and the 3rd one I will use for hunting. If I get it down may try it out this fall. :boon:

Me too! Now comes the fun part....sanding!
:thanks:
Yep I got to pick up some sandpaper tomorrow. What should I seal the call with?
Mmmmm....I'm not sure. I put a two part epoxy on mine, but then you have to have a turning motor. Id think any clear sealer would work. I even suggested to a guy, clear nail polish may work. ??????? If your not going to do any art work on it, I'd just sand that baby down smooth. I generally go from 100 to 1000.
Nice looking call for your first one!! Yep as said above now comes the fun part, sanding. But it will all be worth it and there is nothing more satisfying in my opinion them making a call yourself and then getting to put it to work in the field. Good luck with your new call.
Ok I will sand it up good thanks guys!
Great job that wingbone and it will work good in the turkey woods.
Looks like your off to a great start, good advice above. Beware of the bug, yes sir that call building bug is just before biting you..... Ha.
