Got an early start today. Went to my spot last night and hunted 3 hours saw nothing and heard nothing. Got there this morning about a quarter after 5:00. Heard one gobble so moved closer to him then another moved closer picked my tree sat down. Tree called they gobble. Fly down sound with the my hats they turned it up to that. 5 min pass hes on the ground coming my way. I see movement reposition the shooting sticks then it looked like somebody shook the trees and turkeys fell out of them. He got to the top of the ridge and 12 hens flew down to meet him..... He is still looking for me for some reason, strutting up the hill, stops and sticks his head up to see where I am,looks to be 40 yds to me. I let drive and he goes in a heap and not a flop stone dead. I get up and walk down the hill to where he lays that was a long walk. More than 40 yds. The SBEII with my new steady grip stock was really nice made it easier to handle. Shooting the Benelli Turkey choke and Winchester 3.5in long beard #6 shot.
He had a 10 inch beard,23.5 pounds. 1 1/4 in razor sharp spurs.
Turkey and mushrooms tomorrow!

Looks like double spurs on both legs to me. That's one heck of a bird then. Hope you didn't hack those up, because that's pretty rare!
