Title: IC Choke Constriction
Post by: WVU on May 07, 2014, 08:27:52 PM
I'm going to give 20ga a try for turkey and I was hoping you all could give me some input on Your experience with Indian Creek restrictions.

The set up will either be a:

-870 build specifically for turkey..or
-Beretta 390 (current rabbit/dove gun)

Running factory 7's and hopefully reloading my own TSS down the road

I contacted IC and they said anywhere between .558 - .562

What have you all experienced to give the beat results?

Going from HTL 7s to TSS down the road? Are you going to TSS 8s or 9s?
TSS can even be shot in 575 chokes and be tight.

It is hard to say what choke to do the job for you and it may be one for now and one for the road.

FWIW, I have seen the best results posted with TSS on this site and many others, by guys shooting the IC .555. If by best you mean the tightest overall pattern with the hottest core. The TSS patterns with that choke border on too tight for some guys. The .562 probably has a little more foregiving pattern that is still going to hold together way out there. I guess it depends on what kind of pattern you want.
