Title: Unpressured late season birds
Post by: BlakeJ on May 05, 2014, 07:49:00 PM
I might have a chance to hunt some pretty good turkey property this weekend, and it's the last weekend of the season.

It hasn't been hunted all spring.

You guys think I could get away with basically treating them like early season birds and being a little aggressive with my calling, and use my strutter decoy, since they shouldn't be that wise? Or should I treat them like any other late season birds?

I'd stay easy on the calling and aggressive on your positioning. Give them enough talk to keep track of them and be willing to move where they want to be. No sense in wrecking a great situation by over calling. Those birds may have seen more pressure than you think.

Don't go with a set plan in mind. See what's going on when you get there and adapt accordingly. Pressure or not, they're still turkeys.
