great bird.. did you hunt with an outfitter? If so.. can you share the info? I'm looking to hunt out there.

No sir .. I hunted a private ranch that a buddy of mine outfits for elk .. He had never hunted turkey on it prior .. It was a a DIY .

Very nice bird.

I would think Merriams in New Mexico...  Looks like a Rio from the picture though?

This area is too far west to hold any rios or hybrids . The bird definitely has some buff color to the tips. I've killed merriams in several other states and have see. Some that were really white and some that had that cream colored to them .
