I've hunted MO for many years but never had a two day tag out hunt until this year. Got into town from Kansas on Sunday night, shot a 22.5 lb, 1.1/8 spurs, 9" beard gobbler Monday morning and a 22.25 lb, 1 1/8" spurs, 10.5" beard gobbler on Tuesday morning. Still have 4 days of vacation to hunt morels!
That's awesome, congrats!!! :icon_thumright:
And best of luck hunting those morels! I love those things!!!
Where in Mo are you at. sounds like you need to head south to Oklahoma or Arkansas.

I would do that in a heartbeat but I have a buddy with me with 2 tags. I'm in northern MO.

It's my old walnut and maple short box. It may not be the best looking or best sounding of my calls, but the birds love it!
Think it looks great. And obviously the birds love it too.
congrats, nice birds
Congrats on those Mo toms
Congrats!
Were you hunting with a outfitter? I hunted with KT's trophy Hunts 5-6 times, I think they were in Scotland county. I loved to hunt those big old Midwest birds. Man can they gobble.

I hunt public ground in north MO. I've hunted this area for nearly twenty years and never shot two birds on consecutive days. To do it on the first two days of my hunt in the second week of the season made for a hunt I won't soon forget. The second bird I shot stayed with the Turkey Roost for a mount I'll pick up next spring. The birds from that part of the country do gobble hard and weigh more than any other birds I've hunted.
Missouri had one great season this year in my opinion. Timing must have been spot on. Was a blast from opening Monday all the way till closing Sunday. I haven't seen a season this good in a lot of years.
Congrats ! Gotta love it when a plan comes together like that!
