so I picked up a 935 over the weekend to add to the stable of guns...it has a 26" non ported barrel shoots pretty good bout the same as my 835 thinking about buying a 22" barrel for it can anyone chime in on what I will be losing performance wise or any pros and cons thank you in advance
I've got the 26in version also, but was thinking about going with a 24.
Mine has the 26" barrel and patterns exceptionally well. Based upon what I've seen over the years, a 26" barrel, especially in those over bored guns is just about perfect. That's not to say that you can't get turkey killing patterns with shorter barrels, my SSi-ONE (same bore) has a 24" ported barrel and it does quite well.
Most of the folks who contact me with patterning "challenges" are shooting the shorter barrels however.
I'd recommend that you handle a 935 with a shorter barrel to see if you can feel the benefit of it before you go to the expense of purchasing one.
It may feel much better to you than the one you have or it may make very little difference.
Thanks,
Clark
I tried a 20, 24, and 26 and ended up hurting with the 24 really like the size and pattern Im get with it the 20 was picky with the shell and choke I used
anyone try the 22"
I should have said the barrel is 22in with the choke tube makes it a 24in I all ways count the overall length
Does it shoot just as good as the 26 my barrel is 26 plus 2 inch choke
If I had to pick one it would be the 26 but if it was going to be just a turkey gun I would go with the 22
Con: short barrels are loud. I've hunted with turkey guns from 28" down to 20". 26" is short enough for mobility. It's not like the shorter barrel is going to make the 935 a light gun.
