Anybody have any suggestions on some good turkey vests? Something to support my back up against a tree and a good cushion to sit on.
My tactical Tatr is super comphy.
most of them have good back and bottom support. As for the vest... it all depends on what you need to carry. I found with the bigger vest... I just end up carrying more junk that I really don't need. I settled for a lightweight Ol Tom ... has just enough pockets but isn't overboard.
I tried on and looked at a whole ton of vests when I bought a couple years ago. I set a budget of $200 or less.
My requirements were that it have a comfy seat, quiet fabric, planty of pockets that close securely, and the ability to use a hydration bladder.
I wound up with a Red Head. It has done everything I have asked of it, and I'm still happy with it.

Yep I like mine as well
Another vote for the tactical tatr vest. New to me this season it,s great. :OGturkeyhead:
I'm going to watch this thread with interest. The seams gave out on by Bucklick Creek Lounger this spring, so my buddy and I have each had two of them go bad over the last 4 seasons. I do like the stadium seat feature of that vest, so that's why I buy them. But I'm switching this year, even if I have to carry a chair around with me.
Old Tom ...
.can't go wrong.
Own 2....Strap and I Beam models in Mossy Obession

Ol' Tom. Have two. Will hold everything you could need and more. Spine cushion and comfortable seat.
How does the tactical Tat'r feel while leaning against a tree withe the frame? Does the frame interfere with your comfort against the tree?
ol tom.............
Ol Tom
I've used a Russell NWTF vest for years.
I had some issues with 2 Ole Tom T&M vest this past spring. I got a Red Head vest for Christmas and am anxious to try it this spring.

I'm in the market for a new vest as well, what issues did you have with the ol tom vests?

Sorry this is so late. Haven't been on in a while.
I bought 2 of the Time and Motion I Beam vest. Both of them had zipper pulls that came off within hours of getting them. One of them had the hook on the slate call pouch break off the 2nd day I used it and both had issues with the plastic snaps that held the seats on. Ended up using zip ties on those. The pulls and buckles seemed cheaper than most. For the money you pay I guess I expected more.
What really ticked me off was the store I bought them from didn't have any more to exchange and wouldn't give me my money back or even a store credit if I swapped them for something cheaper. Then I called Drake to see if they would help and again no luck there.
I own tons of Drake duck hunting gear and never any issues. Guess it was just my time...
You guys will love this ::) but I use the Mossey Oak vest from Whalemart. I will say the first one I got had the seams coming undone on the zipper, but after I exchanged it all has been good. Packs everything I've needed so far just fine.
I've got the under amour turkey vest I like it a lot, but it is a little to high.

I like and suggest Knight Turkey Vest
Best vest for me out of two Ol'tom Essentials, Ol'Tom Ibeam, and Russell Elite 3.
It is super comfy and the hands free gun holder is very nice to have.
I found this one on clearance at Wal-Mart and I like the layout...good back padding and the seat is surprisingly comfortable and easy to deploy

Checkout Alps Outdoor Z Grand Slam Turkey Vest. Very well made and has a kickstand frame with
adjustable legs and fast locking technology. Checkout this vest!
I've had 1 from Roger's sporting goods and really like it. Its the Roger's brand.
Any updates on an old post, I need a good vest, kinda leaning towards mossy oaks but can't decide between the strap version or the regular vest

I have one of the bucklick vest. This was the 10th season on it. Lots of seams are ripped out and I'm going to retire it. I'm going to try the alps impact I think. Hard to get away from that stadium seat.

Is the stadium seat enough padding?

The one on the old bucklick creek I have has no padding but has never been an issue for me. That new impact pro has a little padding I see.
