Going next week on a self guided hunt with an Outfitter in TX. Was wondering about the tipping. For the most part I'll be guiding myself and doing my own calling. Tip or not? Or just a few bucks if he does any extras? Chief
Always a personal choice, however, depend on what kind of a "trespass fee" he charges you, if he takes you out and shows you where the birds roost, travel, feed, etc or if he just says here's a map, is he providing food/shelter, does he take an interest in you having a good time and getting your bird? Lots to consider.
Turkey killin. (Not hunting) is becoming a rich man game!!!
All it takes is money and your a turkey killin fool...
I'll take my public land gobblers the hard way and proud of it :o
I've read 10% is standard but there is a lot to factor.

There is no guarantee you are going to kill with an outfitter - they are wild birds, and you are hunting just as much as you are doing so on public.
Get off your high horse.
10% is a good guide to start, if someone works their butt off go up from there.
