Do they usually head back to the roost about the same time every day? And if so when is it? Just before dark? After dark? Late afternoon/early evening?
Most of the time around 30 min or so before dark when they fly up. I have took 2 this year in the late evening. It gets dark here about 7:40 and I got the one Thursday at 6 headed back toward where they roosted at.
Not sure about when they fly up but seems like around the house they'll shock gobble to an owl hooter right before pitch black. I think they've been in the trees for a while but won't talk until late late.
